Open Source Horizon is the theme of Hong Kong Open Source Conference 2024, and this is the 12th year of Hong Kong Open Source Conference, most of the topics come from calls for proposals and community process. Participants may learn about the latest development of open source technology and their applications.
Hong Kong Open Source Conference ( HKOSCon ) is one of the major Open Source conferences in Hong Kong since its first commercement in 2013, bringing an international crowd of developers, contributors, users, IT managers, students and public. The conference aims to promote the open source development into communities and to encourage its application in the industry.
With different annual themes, related open source sectors are invited to share its open source development and trends of the IT industry and community. The annual celebration is nonetheless supported by the tertiary education sectors, fans and sponsors. Other than talks, speeches & lightning talks, HKOSCon has expanded its scope into workshops, non-conferences, gathering and promotional booths.
HKOSCon is a community conference intended for networking and collaboration in the developer and user community. We value the participation of each member of the Open Source community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

- 講述如何使用直觀而人性化的簡短語句，配以不同語言（如中文、英語、日語等）來教授編程技巧。當中循序漸進的課綱和課節，教師都能容易因應學生的體驗和需要而作出調整。
- 11:00 – Azure Adventure – A RPG game to test student’s Azure practical skills
- 香港資訊科技學院高級講師 Cyrus Wong 連同其學生 Mandy Lau，將會陪同在場的參加者在這一節時間內以遊戲體驗的方式，一起完成特定 Azure 雲端任務來賺取小遊戲代幣！
- 11:45 – hkbus.app – Free and Ad-free bus app costing HKD 1000 per year to support ~40k daily users
- 由講者 Chun Law 開發的 hkbus.app 使用了政府資料一線通的開放數據，希望以無廣告的方式來幫助市民大眾「追巴士」！席間會向參加者講解如何使用極低成本來開發出高效率的手機應用程式，以及過往一兩年間的成效、使用現況等分享。
- 最後，於整個活動當中亦會有「迷你搶旗遊戲」（Mini-CTF），學生和參加者可以扮演攻擊者一方，嘗試從漏洞百出的系統中獲得答案得分！
- 當日亦設有技術導賞，歡迎各位教師和學生預先申請，以便於活動中向各位講解不同的科技概念和涵義！
