In order to uplift the technology knowledge, to sharpen the technology skills and to strengthen the interests and knowledge in networking technology of students in Secondary levels. AiTLE + Cisco Network Academy (HK & Macau) will launch ‘The 11th Cisco Hong Kong-Macau Youth Networking Skills Competition 2015’ on 4th July, detail as below :

Competition Date, Time, Venue Info :

• Date : 2015-07-04  (Saturday)
• Time : 12:30-18:00
• Venue : HKUSPACE Kowloon East Campus, 28 Wang Hoi Road, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon
  • Exit B, Kowloon Bay MTR Station

Detail of Competition (Secondary Group) :

• 2 students per team (max 45 teams for HK, 10 teams for Macau)
• Format:
  • Theory part
    • Online chapter test for Cisco Network Academy courses (login info and detail will be provided at training date)
      • 30% of mark of the Theory part
    • Online questions in form of MC, T/F, Matching, Fill-in-the-blank etc during the competition date
      • 70% of mark of the Theory part
  • Practical part – Network scenario building
    • using Packet Tracer Version 6.0.1
  • Practical part – IoE (Internet of Everything) building
    • through provided equipment (equipment set will be provided at training date, and student can bring back for practice and do return on competition date)
    • training on the use of the equipment set will be provided at the training date
• Scope:
  • Cisco Networking Academy course (online account will be provided to student at training date)
    • CCNA 5.0 Routing and Switching 1
    • IT Essentials 5.0 (computer hardware and software skills related to Networking)
    • IoE self enrolled course
  • HK ICT Curriculum : Core part – Networking related content + Networking Elective content (P.22-25, 30-35, 45-53 of http://334.edb.hkedcity.net/doc/eng/curriculum/ICT%20C&A%20Guide_updated_e.pdf)

In order to release the burden of teacher(s)-in-charge of Secondary Group, a training session to teach student about basic Networking concept (CCNA R&S, ITE, IoE, and the use of Packet Tracer and the IoE equipment set) will be arranged as below:

  • Gold Awards, Silver Awards, Bronze Awards for team(s) has / have reached that award standard
  • Merit awards

• Certificate, trophies, Coupons
• All participants (teacher and student) will have a Polo shirt for the competition, please specify the size you required during registration.

  • For Secondary Group registered after 2015-04-24, no training will be provided by Organizers

Remarks :

Even though unlimited number of teams can be registered to join the competition, however, in order to cater more schools’ participation, only the teams with priority 1 or 2 of each school will be auto-accepted before registration is full. More teams (according to the priority indicated during registration) can be accepted if either the responses from schools are low or the venue can accommodate more teams. So during registration, please note the priority info for the team so that we can have better information and can make decision on which team(s) of your school can finally accepted to the competition
