Following the successful implementation of WiFi 100, WiFi 900 Phase 1. Over 50% of K12 schools in Hong Kong already have WiFi coverage in classrooms. From observation, most WiFi 900 Phase 2 schools are nearly completed the tendering procedure of WiFi service provision and will have their WiFi installation in Classrooms soon. Therefore, expecting more than 75% of K12 schools in Hong Kong will have WiFi coverage in classrooms after September 2016.
The next step after WiFi installation in Classroom is the click start of eLearning activities in school, but that’s not easy.
In order to ease the click-start of eLearning in school, AiTLE has launched a program called “AiTLE-ETC Education Software / App TestBed Program” (in short, called TESTBED). The event has a great success and has undergone 2 phases (Phase I and Phase II) already. Also, has organized a Education Trip to UK at Jan 2016 with a great success. During the trip, we found UK has a great project called “The BBC micro:bit” which is good to coding education and we are eager to do trial and promotion in Hong Kong.
To continue the support and promote of eLearning in Hong Kong, AiTLE has continue the partnership with ETC to launch the “TESTBED ~ Phase III”, also we have successfully in communication with “The BBC micro:bit” and waiting for the delivery of some micro:bit at end May (hopefully). In addition, the TESTBED program will launch a STEAM tour to Germany at July 2016.
