“micro:bit everywhere”, I think this term is very suitable to describe the situation right now. From school teaching, teachers sharing, students competition, or even books publication, we can see the involvement of micro:bit. No matter STEM, no matter Coding Education, or no matter Smart home, Smart Campus and Smart City, all involved micro:bit.
The learning on how to use micro:bit and even its teaching has a great demand. Most micro:bit training, once promoted, will become full in a short period of time. To cope with the need, AiTLE is joined handed with micro:bit Alliance, HKedCity and HKUSPACE to launch a workshop series called “micro:bit Workshop Series”, so as to cope with the training need.
In order to have the workshop run smoothly, we have categorized the workshop into 5 different levels,
Detail of each level is as below :
- Level 1 : micro:bit Basics
- micro:bit hardware interface (button, LED, sensor)
- micro:bit Let’s Code Platform and Resources
- Ways to connect micro:bit to device (Bluetooth, USB)
- Way to flash from device to micro:bit
- Simple micro:bit Coding (3-4 activities)
- Level 2 : Built-in micro:bit I/O
- micro:bit Coding using micro:bit built-in sensor
- Light sensors
- Accelerometer
- compass
- temperature sensor
- micro:bit Coding using micro:bit built-in sensor
- Level 3 : Connect micro:bit to other devices through PINS (I)
- Connect micro:bit to other sensors and servo motors
- Radio Transmission (Easy communication between micro:bits)
- Adding Package
- Small scale project on real life scenarios
- Level 4 : Connect micro:bit to other devices through PINS ( II )
- Connect micro:bit to other sensors and motors
- Fischertechnik / Arduino / Breakoutboard / TinkerBoard / KittenBot
- Bigger project on real life scenarios
- Connect micro:bit to other sensors and motors
