HKEAA announced at 2012-12-18 that the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) Board approved tariff recommendation for level 5** at 145 points for 23 Category-A NSS subjects, putting it at a slightly higher standard than grade A* (140 points) in GCE A level examination.
This announcement came after the completion of a recent benchmarking study when live data of 2012 HKDSE actual performance were analyzed further to the benchmarking studies in 2010, and served as an encouragement to the government’s effort in promoting acceptance of the HKDSE for entry to overseas universities.
